Staffordshire County Council have a vacancy for a Traffic Data Officer, you’ll support the delivery of their traffic data service, providing the insight needed to enable high‑quality development, help keep the network safe and operating well, and contribute to an improved experience for all road users.
You will:
- Install, retrieve and maintain traffic counters and survey equipment
- Collect & validate data on traffic volumes, speeds, classifications, turning movements and active travel
- Conduct on‑site inspections, undertake minor equipment repairs and ensure reliable data collection
- Support updates to highway information using digital systems, such as Geographical Information Systems (GIS)
- Contribute to programming survey work, invoicing and liaising with customers, colleagues and external suppliers
This is a varied role that combines outdoor activity with digital data work, and offers the chance to visit and work in many different parts of the county.
